Tempura Bimi® Baby Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Bimi® Baby Broccoli
  • ½ cup plain flour
  • ½ cup cornflour (or rice flour)
  • 1 tsp carrom seeds (ajwain)
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup ice-cold sparkling water (adjust based on consistency)
  • Pinch of salt, pepper
  • Neutral oil for frying

Dipping Sauce

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili crisp
  • Optional: splash of rice vinegar

Directions

  1. Mix soy sauce, chili crisp, and vinegar.
  2. Whisk flours, carrom seeds, baking soda, salt, and pepper. Add 1 whisked egg and sparkling water gradually to make a light, slightly lumpy batter.
  3. Heat oil to 170–180°C (340–360°F). Dip Baby Bimi® Broccoli in batter and fry until golden (2–3 min).
  4. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with the dipping sauce.
