The wait is over! The 2026 Shortlist for the World Food Photography Awards sponsored by Bimi® has officially been revealed—and it’s as inspiring, global, and visually stunning as ever.
With thousands of entries submitted from over 50 countries, this year’s competition once again captures the many ways food connects us all. From quiet moments of harvest to vibrant scenes of celebration, the shortlisted images offer a powerful glimpse into cultures, communities, and everyday life through the universal language of food.
A Global Stage, With Strong U.S. Representation
This year, photographers from the United States made a notable impression, with 124 images earning a place on the Shortlist.
From urban farming in Brooklyn to creative culinary compositions, the range of work highlights both technical excellence and deeply human storytelling.

Judged by the Best in Food and Photography
The awards are evaluated by an internationally respected panel, chaired by legendary food photographer David Loftus.
He’s joined by an impressive lineup of voices across food, media, and culture, including:

- Clare Reichenbach, CEO, James Beard Foundation
- Ian Kittichai, Chef, Restaurateur

Save the Date: Awards Night in London
Winners across 27 categories will be announced on June 2, 2026, at the Champagne Taittinger Awards Evening in London. This includes the special Bimi® Prize, whose winner will receive a dinner for 2 at a Michelin Star restaurant as well as a $500 travel voucher per person.
Hosting the evening is none other than celebrated Italian chef and food personality Gennaro Contaldo, a beloved figure known for his passion, warmth, and deep-rooted connection to food culture.
As a longtime mentor to Jamie Oliver and a champion of simple, seasonal cooking, Gennaro brings a fitting energy to an event that honors both artistry and authenticity in food.

Following the awards, a free public exhibition will showcase all finalist images at the Mall Galleries from June 3rd through 7th 2026, offering an up-close look at the creativity and storytelling behind each photograph.
A curated selection will also be displayed at Fortnum & Mason, an iconic destination synonymous with food excellence beginning June 9.
