Celebrating Young Talent Behind the Lens

Calling all budding photographers! The World Food Photography Awards, sponsored by Bimi® Broccoli, is thrilled to announce an exciting new initiative for young creatives: the Jamie Oliver Youth Prize. This new category, led by globally renowned chef, author, and child health advocate Jamie Oliver, is designed to inspire the next generation to tell food stories through photography.

Whether it’s capturing the joy of a family recipe, the artistry of a baker at work, or a moment of connection over a meal, this competition is a celebration of creativity and passion for food.

Open to All Aspiring Young Photographers

The Jamie Oliver Youth Prize is free to enter and open to children and teens in two age groups:

  • 12 and under
  • 13 to 17 years old

Entries will be judged by Jamie Oliver himself, along with James Verity, Creative Director of the Jamie Oliver Group, and David Loftus, Chair of Judges for the World Food Photography Awards and one of the world’s most celebrated food photographers.

Incredible Prizes for Young Creatives

Winners in each age category will have the opportunity of a lifetime, including:

  • A visit to Jamie Oliver Headquarters in London for a behind-the-scenes experience.
  • An invitation to the World Food Photography Awards Evening in May 2025, along with a parent or guardian, where winners will receive their trophies.
  • Showcased at the Mall Galleries: Winning and runner-up images will be proudly displayed as part of the World Food Photography Awards exhibition in London.

Jamie Oliver’s Message to Young Creatives

Jamie Oliver shared his excitement about the competition:

“Above all, I am so excited to empower young voices and encourage them to explore the art of food photography as a way of expressing their creativity and passion. For me, food is never just about the taste – it’s all about bringing people together, creating those special moments, and sharing stories. I can’t wait to see how these young photographers capture that magic through their lenses.”

James Verity, Creative Director at the Jamie Oliver Group, added:

“This is a brilliant opportunity to celebrate new and emerging talent. I’m particularly thrilled to help highlight the incredible creativity in the youth category and can’t wait to get started!”

Caroline Kenyon, Founder of the World Food Photography Awards, explained:

“Jamie Oliver is globally known for his passion to educate children about food, as a source of joy and good health. It’s wonderful to have his involvement to inspire young people to connect with food in such a thoughtful, creative way.”
